UX/Feature Report: Missing “Exit Interview” Action After Finalization

Summary
After an interview is finalized, the user has no clear way to leave or close the interview screen. There should be an explicit button or action to exit the finalized interview and return to a safe default (e.g. workspace/home/interview list).

Current Behavior
When the interview reaches its final state (all questions asked, goodbye message shown, and/or backend marks it as finalized), the conversation simply “stops” but the user remains on the same screen. There is no obvious, primary action to close or leave the interview view. This makes the end of the flow feel unfinished and can trap users in the screen.

Expected Behavior
Once the interview is finalized, the UI should present a clear, primary action to leave the screen again. Examples:

  • A prominent “Back to workspace” / “Return to interviews” / “Close” button.

  • The finalized state includes a completion summary plus navigation options (e.g. back to list, open report, etc.).

The user should always have an intuitive way to exit without relying on the browser back button or guessing navigation.

Impact

  • Confusing end-of-flow experience; users may not be sure if they’re “done” or if something is stuck.

  • Increases friction and cognitive load, especially for non-technical users or external interview participants.

  • Inconsistent UX with other flows that clearly indicate completion and next steps.

Recommended Changes

  • In the finalized interview state, add a primary button (e.g. “Back to workspace” or “Exit interview”) that routes to the appropriate page (e.g. interview overview).

  • Optionally show secondary actions (e.g. “View report”, “Start new interview”), but ensure there is always one clear way to leave.

  • Ensure this behavior is consistent across all interview templates and environments (staging/production).
