Mobile experience

Priority: High

What users said

  • A senior executive attempted the interview on mobile and could not complete it.

  • They said this matters because busy leaders may only engage while moving.

  • They also said store users would often not be on laptops, so mobile is essential.

Underlying requirement

  • Mobile should be a first-class interview environment, not a degraded fallback.

Implementation guidance

  • Optimize for phone-first interaction:

    • large tap targets

    • low-friction audio capture

    • resilient backgrounding behavior

    • reconnect on app/browser focus return

  • Minimize UI complexity on small screens

  • Support interrupted mobile usage:

    • walking

    • multitasking

    • switching apps

    • screen lock/unlock

  • Make question/answer flow readable and resumable on poor bandwidth

  • Test specifically on common mid-range Android devices, not just ideal hardware

Acceptance criteria

  • Full interview can be completed on mobile.

  • Temporary app switching does not break session state.

  • Audio/question flow remains usable on unstable mobile networks.
